FWIW, here's some info about ESPN News from Wikipedia: MASN2 is now the only regional cable network that still buys the ESPN News feed. In the past it was carried by many RSNs owned by Comcast and Time Warner, but not Fox affiliates. It has also been used as filler content in blacked-out locations for some events, and as an overflow channel for World Cup, i.e. Its role for ESPN has clearly diminished. Morphing into ACCN is not an outrageous idea. It solves problems for ESPN, especially if ESPN News is outliving its usefulness and profitablity. Much of ESPN proper is just sports news.
Since 2014, ESPN News has been produced in 720p HD, but some distributors downgrade it to 480 SD. (MASN2?)
